  1. So theoretically what if you’re too poor to buy a membership

  2. Thank you so much, Levy. I was doing a lot of the same things as the 1600, but I'm starting to see quantifiable improvement from your advice. Cut back on empty games, stopped rushing puzzles, and tuned up my openings. Man, it is wild. I feel like I'm spotting way more tactics, feeling confident throughout entire games start to finish, and my puzzle rating is way higher than it has ever been by a huge margin.

I'm a 40 hr/week manager but finding times for good, focused practice daily. I have been stuck around 1600-1800 for about 5 years and suddenly I'm absolutely crushing at my level. Waiting for a new peak!

  3. How do you find tournaments for like a 17 year old that just started like 6 months Ago and is only 1000

  4. You hit home for me on one thing, how long I take to solve puzzles. I usually do 25 puzzles a day because I paid for the right to do so, and I never take more than a minute to solve them. My reasoning for this? I’m trying to develop the instinct for finding the right move. I’ve been climbing and climbing until I’ve hit a wall around 1900 and now my puzzle rating 1700. Since watching this video, I won’t make a move unless I’m 1000% sure of the move, mostly by process of elimination, and if I get one wrong I go back and study why it was wrong and why right was right. I miss playing chess in person because I miss the clock punching, notating moves, going through my mental checklist. All things I don’t do in rapid games.

  5. im a 500 and a play my openings excellent but in the midlle game i always blunder something

  6. I’m going be honest with you, I found it hard to follow along and learn from you for some reason for awhile now. But, today after watching this video, things have changed, and this video is very informative and has helped me a lot! I thank you so much sir for all your effort and knowledge and time you spend putting these videos together!

  7. Make a video from 350 , it will be helpful for me .

  8. The highest rating from a bot that I can beat is 1100

  9. I have been stuck at 200-400 back and forth ever since i started. The past 2 days, ive gotten 200 more in my rating to 630, and even beat 1000 rating players, but lately, my weakness is just by timeout, im easily distracted in the real world or think too much while in my games, but still good tip video! Here is another tip, review your older games and check for mistakes, blunder and miss wins! Now i get around 60-80% accuracy!

  10. It would be nice if the explorer page had some filters, so we could actually look at the last 100 games as a set.

  11. This dude is a great chess teacher. Right to the point every time without bullshit filler

  12. I love this video 👍 . Was wondering about the balance between game time and studying.

  13. What if you play 100 games against yourself and memorize what seems important or just everything?

  14. wow, steady improvement through 2 games a day on longer time controls with lots of puzzles. I wish I had chosen this path instead of hypnotically playing rapid chess to the verge of utter self loathing.

  15. 8 losses in a row. I don't know what to do.

  18. 1000 – 1300 in one month.
    Thanks Gotham.

  19. I am J. Rabindranath. I Learned chess just a about 2 weeks. By watching your videos, i got better. I am trying to get to 1000 elo. Btw, I am 11 years Old and my elo in rapid is 238 and in blitz is 198. I am trying to improve. Please upload more so that i can Learn more. Thank you.

  20. In other walks of life, and in other games, the more you play the better you'll become, but with chess, it's a little bit different. Play plenty starting out maybe, but then quality reigns over quantity, because with quantity, you just repeat silly mistakes and blunders, and your head doesn't notice. Great advice Levy!

  21. 0:39 thats all you need to know 10 sec ! Im beginner but i like a lot to play puzzles more then players . 1500 is easy !!

  22. What I find frustrating is that sheer randomness of play. Up to 1500 (which I've never surpassed by the way) there seems to be little order. I just end up playing off the cuff after about move three in nearly every game. Hey ho.

  23. Now I want to see GothamChess in a Mixed Martial Arts fight with a chess costume…. Thanks for that mental image. Has he ever answered what piece he identifies most with?

  24. I'm hovering around 400. The competition is stiff at this level but I do seem to be climbing steadily. Prodigy? Well will still have to see about that.

  25. And stuck for nearly a year

    In school class 6

  26. This was a good video!! I feel really inspired!

  27. When levy said learn danish gambit i was very happy
