Tactics training is one area of Chess that has not changed much in the last centuries. However, I would like to introduce you to the way I like to do it with my advanced students. Hope you find it useful!

About National Master Robert Ramirez:
With an outstanding background as a professional Chess player and over 8 years of teaching experience, Robert Ramirez brings both his passion and his expertise to the board, helping you believe & achieve!
Robert Ramirez was introduced to the fascinating world of Chess when he was 5 years old and has participated in prestigious tournaments such as the World Open Chess Tournament and the Pan American Intercollegiate Team Championships. Thanks to his performance, he has earned his National Master title from the United States Chess Federation.
Currently, NM Ramirez and his carefully selected team teach at several private schools in the counties of Miami-Dade and Broward and they also offer private lessons. He says the key to their success as Chess coaches is their ability to adapt to every student and to make lessons fun and interesting for students and even their family members.
The real secret treasure is that you really need to use words when calculating. This is the very first time I hear any streamer coach say it. Proving that Robert really knows what adult improvers need to improve.
Mr ramerez can you please do a videeo about zukertort vs pirc I just don't know what todo when I face zukertort opening.
This is way harder than just solving a bunch of deterministic puzzles 😅
It's so hard to find puzzles in gm games though
Rob, the problem with excersice is that you need a companion or a coach. I am rated 1159 and I could solve all of the positions but I don't have a companion and I can't do this all alone. Can you give a solution to this?
Nice idea, but you need someone who sets this up for you. So training on my own, this cannot replace normal tactics training.
Yes.
I'm convinced conventional online chess puzzle games have made me worse because they've trained me to blindly make any single forcing move without full calculations.
This is awesome way to train, thanks coach!
The reason 99% of chess players do not improve, or do not improve at "tactics" is because of this nonense Lol. Do you think people like Alekhine or Capablanca did chess puzzles? Maybe Endgame studies, but really chess puzzles? Chess puzzles are an illusion stemming from the world of low level chess players. Tactics only arise out of a good position. Therefore, if you have mastered positional understanding you will be able to notice tactics because these tactics arise from the coordination of pieces and exploitation of either your or opponents weaknesses.
If you want to get better at chess, or tactics, stop doing stupid puzzles and exercises and study Morphy and Steinitz. Tactics do not arise on their own, a good position makes tactics arise. A Grandmaster can see any chess puzzle's move in seconds, why? because he simply understands the POSITION. Not the tactics. There is a reason why Robert Ramirez is still a NM. Because of stupid stuff like this
Chess Tactics will not make you better at chess! Learn positional understanding and you will master all tactics!
You need to upload 50+ of these. I actually calculated this way for the first time. And i found the move in 40 sec after you gave them 5 min. I am stuck at 1400 and this is the reason i am here.
Very happy to have found the solution. I wasn't convinced as it "only" wins a single pawn (of course this is a key weakening of the opponents king).
Great idea! Is there any book with this kind of problems?
