Adult chess players are often told NOT to play blitz. This is TERRIBLE advice.

Oh please not this old how to improve at chess by playing blitz cliche.
I'm lifelong novice player weighing in: I think this video gives great advice. TBH, I avoided any speed chess like the plague for very bad reasons. But once I started, I saw this interesting relationship between how I think in speed mode and how I think in rapid or slow mode. My advice: balance your playing life between them, and identify the tactics you ONLY play in speed/time crunch. The worst thing you can do is only play speed or only play classical. Once you feel yourself hitting a wall or plateauing you need to start breaking those bad habits you accidentally reinforced.

💯 agreed.
Bro. The camera refocuses when you start waving your hand in front of it. Stop it.
