Say what you want, but Levy's commentary is the best, funny, informative and entertaining
If the engine hates, I hate it.
This is my new favorite opening . . . helps keep your mind open to tactics which are everywhere from the start.
15:16 my question is, if you have just explained that if he takes, the best move is Kf3 preventing Qh4 and allowing Rg1, why do you go e4? I mean you knew he is gonna king castle and as you explained before, its a strong position for whites
So as a fun fact, Tigran L. Petrosian was born 1 month after Tigran Petrosian`s death. He was obviously named as the former world champion since his father was a huge fan.
Levy then: I drew a treadmill!
Levy now: Today I'm playing a game with my lamp.
that algerian GM is a monster
“Don’t invest more than you can afford to lose” I think you might be underestimating how used to losing our g pawns 90% of us are lol
This petrosian is not ian but yan
Just seen on Blitzstream LOL
Day 216 of translating Levy’s titles into Italian: “Un apertura nuova di zecca”
6:29 I tried playing this line against an AI and totally lost. Any help?
25:32 recap
Is it just me or Levy is kinda hot?
me who is 800 trying to understand what's going on
Levy: "Defending the Bishop"
draws arrow to knight on c3
27:13
Ok every algerian mf here, petition to call this the Belahcene variation, come on join me
At 3:17 There is qa4 check and you can capture the b4 bishop.
Levi I think what makes you such a compelling presenter for the game of chess is your use of analogy to describe the concepts you are demonstrating on the board. The clearest example from this video of course is when you describe the black knight on g4 as a dam holding back the flow of whites pieces.
Another wonderful video thanks again
This is pretty exciting
I always find myself not using pawns, because I feel like wasting time not developing pieces and in general just dont know what im trying to achieve with them. It makes sense when I watch videos but when i get into games my pawns just freeze
Levi you are so funny with your "It's pretty rare that brand new ideas appear in the first 3 or 4 moves in chess" opening statement – lols!!
You have clearly never witnessed the anarchy of a Friday afternoon game between myself (I've been playing for about a year) and my 87 year old step father.
The random opening moves (admittedly made by my step dad – I tend to stick with the King's pawn or occasionally an English opening) seen as the winter sun in England sinks below the horizon.
However, it's unclear whether there is actually any thinking behind these moves (which include knight to A3), so perhaps you have a point – please continue with the video – I will not get my coat but remain – I might learn something!!
(Irony alert: for anyone reading the first sentence and blasting into action to defend Levi: this is an attempt at humour – please read the entire post before being an idiot)
Trap city opening
will you be doing a video on the berlin defense?
This isn't a new idea. It's just an old idea against the slav applied to the indian
Watched this along with the queen gambit opening video. My rating went up 100 points instantly
This man never runs out of ideas
It's crazy at this point
How much content he can make about this stupid game never ceases to amaze me
If knight takes that pawn at 3:02 isn't that a free bishop with queen A4 check?
The lamp is my favorite character in this series. He just sits back there at the chess board plotting his next move.
When he said Tigran Petrosyan I thought this guy know russian language
24:48 bishop d6 here is better?🤔
is it the Devin Gambit?
Are we going to get more of this please? Develop this out.
This is the first video I fully completed! Is was super interesting!
the way I'm about to try this opening and lose immediately cause I suck
5000 years of chess and there still are more ways of playing it
Nice! I can't wait to try this opening out and lose ~200 points because I'm a scrub
26:05 We found a Yeagerist
08:51 If I take the bishop with my queen the enemy queen will take my queen right?
Anything to throw the memorizers off early.
I played this a while ago and it wasn't considered a new opening since i was only 900 elo
3:26 correct me if I'm wrong but if Nxg4. Does Qa4+ just win a free bishop.
damn, lamp got game.
New video idea : all major openings and how to go against those openings
But Levy, I actually know the risks of investing, unlike chess. You need to solve chess for me. XD
Jkjk, but this was really cool to see because I always thought that g4 was just a pure inaccuracy and a free pawn. Thanks for the cool new idea! ;3
can you do kings gambit plzzzz
